Journ'Tau is created by fresh journalists in the making. This is the space where we are able to share our thoughts, feelings and ultimately report on news events in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa and beyond - giving you news that is informed and up-to-date. As young South Africans, we also share our thoughts on the current states of various events in the country. Most members of Journ'Tau are journalism students.
Journ'Tau became a South African Blog Awards top ten nominee in Best Group Blog category in 2010. At the time of the awards, the blog was only under eight months old, which goes to show that hard work does pay off.
This blog has also been ranked the best in Africa and second in the 50 Helpful Blogs for Journalism Students in the World by an American website called
Online Schooling
Journ'Tau is an amalgamation of two words namely Journalism and Tau, a seTswana word meaning lion. We would like to describe our character as an African lion that is always on the hunt for news and not scared of anything or anybody in our field of work as budding journalists and graduates.
