The South African under 23 side made the nation proud on Sunday afternoon as they beat Libya 4-2 on the first leg of 2012 London olympic qualifiers.
Amaglug-glug dominated the match from the first minute of the game to the last. They showed no mercy to the visitors as they frustrated them by passing the ball around. Amaglug-glug started to relax in the second half as they allowed Libya to score two goals. The first goal of Libya was an own-goal by Ramatlhwe Mphatlhele with the second goal coming from Sami Alghulla after a sloppy defence from the hosts.
South Africa’s goals came from Ndlulula, Masango, Zwane and Bhengu. South Africa will now have to beat Libya on their turf in the second leg because of the two away goals Libya has scored.
Most of the players in the squad are active at club level and are doing wel.l With the quality in the under 23 side, one can safely say we have a team for the 2014 FIFA world cup.
